Diamond Rio will be the headliner entertainment during the 43rd Swiss Wine Festival in Vevay, IN. The group will perform on Friday evening, August 22, 2014 beginning at 8:45 p.m. at Paul Ogle Riverfront Park located at 100 Ferry Street. The event is free with a paid festival admission of $5. This year’s Swiss Wine Festival will take place on Aug. 21-24.

Six-time Vocal Group of the Year, Diamond Rio won their first Grammy for their album The Reason, which also garnered the band their first Dove award. Formed in 1984, Diamond Rio features lead singer Marty Roe, guitarist Jimmy Olander, drummer Brian Prout, keyboardist Dan Truman, bassist/harmony Dana Williams and Gene Johnson on mandolin/harmony.

The band signed with Arista in the early 90s and embarked on one of the most successful careers in country music. Diamond Rio has sold over 10 million albums and earned three platinum and five gold records. The group also won the Country Music Association’s Vocal Group of the Year award four times and netted two Academy of Country Music Awards in the top Vocal Group of the Year category and thirteen GRAMMY® nominations. When they debuted in 1991 with the hit “Meet in the Middle,” Diamond Rio became the first group in the history of country music to have a debut single reach No. 1. They continued to place 32 more singles on the Billboard chart, including “How Your Love Makes Me Feel,” “Norma Jean Riley,” “Beautiful Mess," “Love a Little Stronger," and "One More Day."
Diamond Rio was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1998.

The band will be available after the concert to sign autographs for a limited time.

After Midnight will perform a musical tribute to the 70s from 6:45-8:15 p.m. before Diamond Rio takes the festival stage. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating. No coolers will be permitted. Additional musical groups will perform throughout the four-day Swiss Wine Festival event.
